I want to state that I am against cancel culture.
(before delving into the concept of "eggshell")
Today I saw tons of signs in the forest.
I really wanted to take a walk through the pine forest,
but I find it difficult to figure out
who is guiding my steps so that I can "see."
I'm practicing SAUCHA, and sometimes,
I have to raise my eyes to the sky and say, "HOW ANNOYING!"
(Well, I understand this project as a collaborative effort with the universe)
So today I found many eggshells, many, many eggshells.
There's an expression that says: "it's an eggshell."
I've been practicing SAUCHA for a long time.
All the cigarette butts I see lying on the forest floor scratch my spirit,
and the plastics, shiny plastics, from celebrations, gatherings, and barbecues.
And I pick them up from the ground to clean the forest,
and sometimes I stand there observing
all that they can come to mean.
A plastic container that held
"gluten-free *flamenquines*" (breaded pork rolls).
A "blue pen."
The wrapper from a "Balconi Rollino Nocciola" snack cake.
Labels from "mineral water bottles."
Black "plastic bags" containing dog waste.
SAUCHA / ANTAR SAUCHA (purity or cleanliness)
The first *niyama*, an ethical observance in Yoga philosophy.
When merged with ecology, it proposes a holistic form of cleanliness.
It is, so to speak,
extending the concept of "non-toxic"
to every aspect of life.
And actively participating in the detoxification of our planet,
starting with our own detoxification.
SAUCHA
(managing toxic waste / stopping its generation)
My grandmother used to say that the cleanest person
isn't the one who cleans the most,
but the one who makes the least mess.
Cleanliness has traditionally been women's work,
and being very clean!
was the ultimate benchmark of a woman's reliability.
A woman had to be very clean.
Many men feel ashamed to clean,
or to be seen cleaning. They think it's women's work.
They are capable of noticing "other people's dirt,"
Yet traditionally, they have never done the cleaning themselves.
SAUCHA
Cleanliness is a matter for yogis;
it is very important for a yogi or a yogini.
The Ayurvedic routine begins with personal hygiene:
cleaning the nostrils
to enable breathing, and cleaning the tongue.
When cleaning the tongue, one observes the texture of the saliva—
whether it is very thick or fluid.
This relates to the *Kapha* and *Pitta* energies, which are opposites.
When we wake up with thick saliva, we are in a *Kapha* state—
which is slow and heavy—whereas when it is more fluid,
we are in a *Pitta* state—which is high-energy and intense.
There is an established, ancient "energy rhythm"
that is keenly felt throughout the day and night;
there are Kapha hours and Pitta hours.
SAUCHA
Well, yogis were deeply attuned to this thousands of years ago,
and their cleansing routines included thorough bodily hygiene—
working from the inside out; sweating, eliminating waste,
and flushing out toxins
were considered vital for maintaining health,
and to achieve, alongside yoga practice,
a state of mental clarity, well-being, and health,
that allowed them, in a way, to rise above.
And here’s the thing:
If keeping our home clean means contaminate the sea,
then perhaps we ought to rethink it.
me resulta difícil dilucidar
Voy haciendo SAUCHA, y a veces,
Pues hoy he encontrado muchas cáscaras de huevo,
y a veces me quedo observando
todo lo que pueden llegar a significar.
Un envase de plástico que contenía
“flamenquines sin gluten”.
Un “bolígrafo azul”.
El plástico de una chocolatina llamada
“balconi rollino nocciola”
Etiquetas de “botellas de agua mineral”.
“Bolsas de plástico” negras
con cacas de perro.
SAUCHA/ ANTAR SAUCHA (pureza o limpieza)
