This
work explores the theme of hidden flaws behind idealized appearances.
Through a surreal composition, the artist presents two ornamental
objects that appear intact, yet their reflection in a mirror reveals
internal decay and structural damage. A golden pitcher, seemingly
pristine, is shown dented and deformed; an egg, smooth on the
outside, is revealed as partially missing and mold-infested.
A
secondary vignette at the top illustrates how these objects would be
perceived without the mirror — flawless and deceptive. The piece
becomes a metaphor for how truth, whether in objects or in ourselves,
can be exposed through confrontation with a revealing lens. The
mirror functions as a symbol of introspection and the unveiling of
concealed realities.
