There
is a road, often slippery, a path at the end of which we find a sort
of mirror that returns to us a confused but distinguishable image of
our opposite. At that moment, we can decide who we want to be or who
we want to become.
The
mannequin is the man who has conformed, losing individual
characteristics and behaviors to align with dominant trends. The
result of conformity is an ordinary man (or woman), a cog in a system
lacking structure and personality. Over the course of life, a man, by
character or by necessity, can become a mannequin, but later to recover
and reclaim his characteristics to once again become an individual.
