all’emarginato.
Regenaration of Art
If art is
to give life to things, the art of today is to restore their lives.
awareness, which is also a program, Vincenza Benedetto gives substance to her
vision and feelings mainly in paintings that reusing objects,
them in functions other than those native, experiment
with different combinations and unusual roles,
also recycling raw and processed materials, products and various objects,
new life and identity - and even dignity - to what was thought
be discarded and abandoned, as if an extra time has been
given to the abandoned, the marginalized.
words, she tells us that the useless, through art, can be transformed into its
opposite, in something useful (at least aesthetically) and that if the
redemption can affect things, it can also affect people.
her abstract and materic expressionism, but also continuing her speech of fragments,
shards of reality with their own autonomy, however referring to a whole of which they are part,
tiles in a modular composition, the artist reminds us that we are living in
such a fast-running and fragmented society that risks of stumbling and rolling
on itself, disintegrating, scattering, indeed,
in material fragments on the one hand, and ideological and cultural on
the other, like a broken glass. But art can regenerate and redeem, and empty
bottles are always refillable.
