“Even across oceans, the wind remembers the way home.”
In Wind, Halyna Vakulenko transforms a bouquet of sunflowers into a poetic meditation on memory, migration, and belonging. Painted in 2017, shortly after the beginning of her artistic journey, the work radiates warmth and emotional vitality through expressive palette knife textures and luminous color.
The sunflowers, symbols of Ukraine and inner light, sway gently against a deep blue background, carrying the invisible breath of homeland across continents. Part of the Songs of the Sun collection, the painting reflects the enduring connection between past and present, where family, memory, and love continue to live within the heart despite distance.
Original painting held in a private collection. Limited-edition, hand-embellished archival giclées available upon request. Each print is individually enhanced by the artist with textured varnish, faithfully echoing the original brushwork.
