“Even in the storm of the soul, light continues to reflect upon the water.”
Created in 2017, Opposite Emotions is a deeply personal work from the New Horizons collection, painted in oil on canvas with a palette knife (36 × 24 in / 91 × 61 cm).
Painted during a period of profound emotional upheaval in my private life, the work reflects a state of inner fragility, loss, and searching. The composition contrasts a turbulent, expressive sky—symbol of confusion and emotional intensity—with a calm, reflective lake beneath, suggesting an emerging sense of balance and healing.
This dialogue between storm and stillness expresses the coexistence of pain and hope. Over time, painting became a form of transformation, allowing me to reconnect with strength, purpose, and gratitude, and ultimately discover my artistic path.
Opposite Emotions is a testimony to resilience and renewal, where darkness and light exist in the same breath.
Original painting held in a private collection. Limited-edition, hand-embellished archival giclées available upon request. Each print is individually enhanced by the artist with textured varnish, faithfully echoing the original brushwork.
