Collection StatementEvery painting in the Infinity Bay collection tells the story of a place that touched my heart and became part of my journey. Each canvas captures the moment when light transformed an ordinary landscape into an unforgettable memory, inviting the viewer to experience the same sense of wonder that inspired my brush.
DescriptionTequila & Me was inspired by a photograph taken in Cuba by my local guide during a horseback journey through the mountains near Holguín.
Before this adventure, I had already taken several horseback riding lessons in Québec. However, my Cuban guide introduced me to a different riding technique, one that felt both natural and comfortable. I truly enjoyed learning this new approach.
Together, we spent nearly five unforgettable hours riding through the breathtaking Cuban countryside. At the end of our journey, my guide smiled and said,
"Now you are a real cowgirl."
His horse was named Tequila.
Whenever I look at this painting, I relive the joy of that remarkable day. Tequila's gentle presence, the peaceful mountain landscape, and my guide's warm sense of humor always bring a smile to my face.
More than a self-portrait, Tequila & Me celebrates the happiness of travel, the friendships born along the way, and the freedom of discovering the world from the back of a horse. It reminds me that some of life's most meaningful memories are created not at the destination, but during the journey itself.
