“Some friendships bloom like sunflowers — turning always toward light, even across distant skies.”
Created in 2017 as a tribute to a close friend, Sunflower for Natalya transforms a single sunflower into a symbol of friendship, resilience, and feminine strength. Through vibrant yellow tones and expressive palette knife textures, the painting radiates warmth, gratitude, and emotional connection.
Part of the Songs of the Sun collection, the work reflects the shared journey of two women who left Ukraine to build new lives in Canada while carrying the memory of homeland within them. The sunflower becomes a poetic messenger of affection and hope, celebrating a bond that transcends distance, time, and borders.
Original painting held in a private collection. Limited-edition, hand-embellished archival giclées available upon request. Each print is individually enhanced by the artist with textured varnish, faithfully echoing the original brushwork.
