The work investigates the “fading of the soul” of contemporary man, overwhelmed by the impulses of society, highlighting a process of progressive subtraction: abilities, characteristics, and individual identity gradually weaken until they dissolve.
The artwork consists of 1+11 carved wooden panels, each measuring 27 x 27 cm. The first panel represents man in his completeness; the other 11, featuring different textures, reproduce the same design but gradually lose parts of themselves, leaving space for emptiness.
Marquetry works created using veneers in different color gradations of maple, sycamore, frisé eucalyptus, figured plane tree, canaletto walnut, frisé movingui, ash, tanganika, and bolivar.
