Inspired by the Mangue Beat movement and the idea of the manifest Caranguejos com Cérebro (Fred Zero Quatro) I wrote the text of the Electroctopus Manifesto as a trigger for the project. I remembered the years working in audiovisual and the monsters we made, monsters are videos made from reference materials so that the film can be better visualized during the decoupage process.
With the text in hand and the idea of the monster, I put together this audiovisual piece that uses different materials, exploring their original contexts and their relationships with my subjectivity, in order to be able to re-signify them in a new autonomous discourse, which became the first piece of the Electroctopus project.
"Electroctopus is an artistic investigation that begins in 2021. It is an aesthetic and conceptual metaphor for the cyborg, planet-devouring being that we are transmuting into during the digital era."
