Electroctopus Breathing is a series of experiments with electronic waste sandwiched between glass and placed in a kiln for the fusion process. The result is glass bubbles created by the toxic gases expelled by the metals and plastics of electronic components in the burning process.
These bubbles reminded me of the Oxygen Catastrophe, which over 2 billion years ago changed the atmosphere and the entire planetary context due to the oxygen emitted by the newly emerging plants and their breathing process.
Thinking that we are also modifying the atmosphere with the gases expelled in the process of sustaining the capitalist cosmopolitan-factory way of life, it occurred to me that Ghana, for example, is one of the countries where the purchase of electronic waste from imperialistic nations is a great source of revenue. How will the air be in Ghana?
