Cthulhucene Faces is a serie of sculptures made up of electronic waste melted over a plaster cast. A possible visualization of Electroctopus. The mise en scène design full of advertising glitter that builds imaginaries of a future with a clean aesthetic, in which we will live in beautiful high-tech domes on Mars, like sanitized dolls, maximum exponents of the cosmopolitan urban society, is fake. We will not become something like Spock (Star Trek), beings of extreme logic disconnected from affections and emotions, but we are heading towards mountains of garbage, cancer, somatic psychological diseases, even greater social chasms, human hacking and the annihilation of the balance of life in Planet. The name of the series comes from a concept by Donna Haraway about the era we live in, the author proposes that we have already passed the Anthropocene and that we are now in another era, the Cthulhucene.
"Electroctopus is an artistic investigation that begins in 2021. It is an aesthetic and conceptual metaphor for the cyborg, planet-devouring being that we are transmuting into during the digital era."
