"ZukunftStadt 1.0" is a mixed-media artwork from 2019. It is inspired by urban space, structure, building and represents my vision of what a city might look like in the future. In my art practice I layer textures, paper, photos and paint into stories that invite the viewer to explore deeper meaning. This artwork is a combination of a painting and a collage on canvas and it features a small relief. It is made of paper, of pieces of canvas and acrylic paint. In this collage, I experimented with form, rhythm, calour, perspective and space. My main aim was to create the illusion of three-dimensionality on a two-dimensional canvas. For this reason, I have designed my painting as a multi-perspective space comprising various forms and viewpoints that convey the impression of three-dimensionality. In addition, I have glued various pieces of canvas and paper onto the painted surface. Through this technique, I create a relief that emphasises the three-dimensional character. It is impossible to distinguish the painted areas from the glued-on elements. It is like a game; that is my intention. In this way, I achieve a certain lightness and playfulness. During the creative process, I make spontaneous decisions, and coincidences occur; chaos often reigns. The chaos is also part of the creative process and ultimately finds its order. Everything comes together with a certain lightness and naturalness.
