"Interieur 1.0" is a mixed-media artwork on canvas from 2025. It is a combination of painting and collaged paper fragments taken from found images. It beautifully illustrates that shapes and colours, texture, structures, interiors and three-dimensionality are of great significance to my creativity and my artistic practice – elements that I find in urban spaces, in design and interior spaces, as well as in nature. In the beginning the creative process was open and the concept took shape as the process unfolded. This work is a composition of various fragments that interconnect and coexist. The painted areas engage in a subtle dialogue with the collaged paper fragments. The painting consists of many layers of acrylic paint, which give it a profound visual sensitivity. I approach the canvas as a site of excavation, where the image retains the trace of its own making. I worked intensively on the juxtaposition and interaction of spaces, shapes and colours. The spontaneous placement of colours and shapes is almost always followed by a review of the rhythm, spacing and size of the elements and colours, as well as the alternation between dense and open areas. Then comes the adjustment: I shift, change, reduce or intensify – this creates movement in the alternation between action and reflection. During this creative process, I then decide whether to incorporate collage elements into the picture, remove them or let them fade away later. The result is a heterogeneous aesthetic, combined with many possible interpretations.
