Ocean Care" is a mixed-media work on canvas from the year 2025. It is a combination of painting and collage and reflects my interest in forms, colours, spaces, three-dimensionality and movement. It is made of acrylic paint, found images and tissue paper. I have used found images as figurative elements. My practice is grounded in collage as a form of structural research. Moving across painting, works on paper, and mixed media, I approach the canvas as a site of excavation, where the image retains the trace of its own making. This painting consists of many layers of acrylic paint, which give it a profound visual sensitivity. In this painting found images are trapped within an abstract framework, inviting the viewer into an uncanny and playful dialogue between recognized forms and texturality.
The painting addresses the issue of plastic pollution in the oceans. Plastic bottles and plastic bags lie on the seabed.
