I create mixed media collages inspired by nature, urban life and architecture. I layer textures, paper, photos and paint into stories that invite the viewer to explore deeper meanings. This artwork is a combination of a painting and a collage. It is made of paper, photos and acrylic paint on canvas. I experimented with form, body, calour, space and depth. My main interest was to create the illusion of three dimensionality on a two dimensional canvas. For this reason I have organised my background into four geometric spaces. They differ mainly in calour and form and render the illusion of three-dimensionality. In addition, I have created an extra dimension of space by adding this dark blue long shape on the right edge of the painting. The foreground is organised differently. We see a fanciful body assembled by various elements. Painted and glued elements take turns and interact. One cannot see the difference. This gives the collage a light and playful side. The collage is powerful, playful and seems absurd at the same time. There is a lot of room for interpretation.
