Inspired by Picasso's Women of Algers, I created multiple versions of compartmentalized duplications of myself running around and functioning in my house in the Bonnas, (a nickname of the neighborhood in which I bought my house for my children to grow in.) The concept of a never-ending suprplus of me participating in chores and activities parallels the responsibility of a single-mom's work which is never done and the lack of support that goes with the job. This photograph embraces self-sufficiency and the courage one has of leaning on oneself.
