Under Pressure continues the investigation developed throughout the Intersections series by exploring how organic structures respond to compression and resistance.
Built on the layered substrate developed for the series, the work allows textile fibres to emerge from within the mosaic, creating a space where rigid and soft materials coexist and interact. Ceramic tesserae and textile fibres generate a dynamic of compression and release, as organic forms appear to push through the mineral surface. The textured, pigmented background reinforces the sense of depth and tension, suggesting that transformation is generated not despite pressure, but because of it.
