Camelia Pîrvu is a Romanian artist working with stone, ceramic, oxidized metal, glass, and textiles. Her early training in ceramics at the School of Arts in Galați, undertaken alongside her engineering studies, shaped an enduring interest in the expressive potential of materials. This dual background informs a practice that balances structural thinking with material intuition. Her work investigates the relationship between rigid and organic forms, using reclaimed and contrasting materials to explore transformation, tension, fragmentation, and growth.
Working across scales, from intimate reliefs to large site-specific installations, she creates works in which material becomes an active participant in the narrative. Her projects include a 13-square-meter mosaic installation. Her work has been featured in Cista Art and Wiro Mag, and she has participated in exhibitions organized by AAPB and juried exhibitions with SNAV România. She has also contributed to international collaborative projects, including Threads of Remembrance (UK) and SAMA’s 100 Moments, and was selected for the Prix Picassiette Biennale 2026 exhibition.
