Propagation continues the research developed throughout the Intersections series by exploring how organic structures expand, transform and reshape their mineral environment.
Combining textile fibres with ceramic, natural stone and stained glass, the work investigates the gradual transformation of one material into another. Fibre becomes bands of stone or stained-glass tesserae, dissolving the boundary between soft and rigid matter. Evoking coastlines, roots and geological formations shaped by growth, erosion and movement, the work suggests that transformation itself becomes the structure from which new forms emerge.
