Concept: Part of the inCarnazione series, Spolia is a sculpture that explores flesh as a transformative threshold: a space of passage between memory, breath, and regeneration.
It rises vertically as a vibrant axis, evoking the subtle energy that flows through the body and connects it to the invisible.
Made with organic materials and regenerated textiles, the work unfolds as a map of the subtle: a ritual skin woven with somatic memories, layered affections, and interior tensions. Breath: primordial and vital: moves through the form as a dynamic force, capable of unlocking blocks and unspoken wounds.
Spolia does not represent, it activates. It is an other-body that embraces fragility as foundation, inviting a radical listening to presence. In this gesture, Caterina Roppo interweaves aesthetics and ritual, matter and consciousness, opening a space where identity becomes passage, and trauma, a generative threshold.
