Volume #01 challenges the viewer to navigate the sense of disorientation that panic produces.
The three-dimensional design of the work is dedicated to the study of trauma and its volumetric and spatial impact. This approach represents not only an artistic investigation but also a meditation on the nature of human suffering. The fabric itself, woven with a technique invented by me, symbolizes the fabric of life and the scars that time and experiences leave on our souls. The work evokes abandoned ruins and stones marked by time, comparing these physical scars to emotional ones, creating a deep connection between the voids in the stones and the wounds within us.
The texture of Volume #01 is made using natural and regenerated fibers, some of which react to heat, allowing me to sculpt three-dimensionality without the use of chemical treatments or resins. This process creates a piece that is both solid and dynamic, representing the tension between fullness and emptiness, a metaphor for our emotional experiences. My distinctive technique, applying color from the back to create a bleeding effect, allows me the volumetric shapes within the scars to be drawn, emphasizing the beauty that can emerge from suffering.
In the composition, the sense of peace and the absence of spaces as we normally conceive them manifests as an invitation to reflect on emotional perceptions that go beyond physical reality. This crossing space becomes a territory where the conventions of our perception are challenged and reformulated. Deep within our being, pain is not just a wound, but an open door to light, an opportunity for the awakening of consciousness and the discovery of a new peace.
