Mother of Tides is a sculptural installation featuring a female aquatic dragon surrounded by a stylized seascape and a small boat.
The dragon, with wings, a serpentine tail and multiple breasts, appears as a hybrid creature between myth and nature. Despite its unusual form, it carries a gentle presence, suggesting protection rather than threat. It embodies a figure of abundance, care and quiet strength, blurring the boundaries between the monstrous and the nurturing.
The surrounding sea is conceived as a monochrome, minimal landscape. Its simplified waves create a calm and abstract environment that contrasts with the richness and colour of the dragon. A small boat moves within this space, emphasizing scale and fragility in relation to the vastness of the creature and its environment.
Rather than depicting confrontation, Mother of Tides proposes a state of coexistence between human presence and a powerful yet benevolent nature.
