View from My Window in Winter

View from My Window in Winter is a meditation on the quiet intimacy of place. Created during the winter months in Nice, the diptych reflects the view from my studio—a familiar landscape transformed through memory, observation and emotion rather than direct representation.

Working with a restrained palette, simplified forms and layered collage, I distill the landscape to its essential rhythms: light, architecture, vegetation and space. The work explores the tension between permanence and transience, where everyday surroundings become deeply personal through repeated observation.

Rather than documenting a specific location, the diptych translates the experience of living with a place over time. It is an invitation to slow down and discover how even the most familiar view can reveal new emotions, subtle shifts and unexpected beauty.
