Alex Nereuta is a contemporary mixed media artist, designer, and creative director whose work explores the relationship between place, memory, and design. Inspired by the landscapes she inhabits and the moments she experiences, she transforms everyday observations into bold graphic compositions through painting, drawing, collage, and mixed media. Rather than depicting places exactly as they appear, she reassembles lived elements—architecture, light, color, movement, and memory—into compositions that capture the essence of the places she moves through.
Raised between Romania and Canada, with formative years spent across Asia and Europe, Alex has built an award-winning career spanning fine art, branding, and creative direction. She has led creative projects for international clients including Cirque du Soleil, Disney, and Madonna, experiences that continue to inform the strong sense of composition, color, and graphic simplicity that defines her artistic practice.
Working from sketches developed through daily observation, Alex distills landscapes, architecture, and atmosphere into contemporary paintings that balance structure with emotion. Hand-painted collage elements are often incorporated into her work, adding texture, depth, and a distinctive visual language.
Her work has been featured in Paper Magazine, Condé Nast Traveller, Harper's Bazaar, and Vogue.
Alex lives and works between Montreal and Nice, France.
