This work belongs to the abstract-expressionist school, with clear cubist influences. I used the interplay of sharp lines and bold colors to form a human face that seems divided between many worlds, yet keeps a steady and powerful gaze.
At the center of the work, a single eye stands out. I gave it the role of a symbol — a symbol of insight and inner awareness, as if it sees beyond appearances. It is not an eye for watching; it is an eye for the truth that passes beyond masks and words.
Besides the face, the mosaic disc looks like an inner sun, marking the recurring cycles of life, and the experiences that shape us layer by layer. The unfinished portion within the circle suggests that the journey toward completion never ends; the human being remains in a state of continuous self-construction.
The strong red in the eye and lips reflects passion, strength, and presence. The shades of blue and turquoise bring a sense of calm and spiritual balance. This contrast between warmth and coolness creates a visual dialogue between emotion and reason.
The black lines that divide the face do not appear as distortion, but as inner maps of human experience. Each line is a trace left by time; each color field tells a side of the personality. The circular shapes around the face are like waves, or planets, orbiting a center of consciousness — as if to say that we are the axis of our own world, and everything around us is reflected within.
Here, the face does not divide; it integrates. The eye sees the truth, the circle keeps memory, and between them the soul stands balanced — between what it was, and what it strives to become.
