In this work, Su Ballu Tundu meets the concept of the Sardinian unfinished, a deeply rooted aspect of the island’s identity. In Sardinia, the “unfinished” does not simply represent something incomplete, but rather a suspended dimension between past and present: visible in architecture, homes, and details left open to time and transformation.
The dancing figures emerge in an essential and intentionally raw form, like ancient symbols surfacing directly from the material itself. Wine, with its organic and ever-changing shades, enhances this sense of continuous transformation, while wool and gold leaf create a contrast between artisanal memory and symbolic preciousness.
The artwork portrays an authentic, imperfect, and living Sardinia, where the unfinished becomes identity, waiting, and possibility.

In questa opera, Su Ballu Tundu incontra il concetto del non finito sardo, una caratteristica profondamente radicata nell’identità dell’isola. In Sardegna, il “non finito” non rappresenta soltanto qualcosa di incompleto, ma una dimensione sospesa tra passato e presente: visibile nelle architetture, nelle case, nei dettagli lasciati aperti al tempo e alla trasformazione.
Le figure del ballo emergono in maniera essenziale e volutamente grezza, come simboli antichi che sembrano affiorare dalla materia stessa. Il vino, con le sue sfumature organiche e mutevoli, amplifica questa sensazione di trasformazione continua, mentre la lana e la foglia oro creano un contrasto tra memoria artigianale e preziosità simbolica.
L’opera racconta una Sardegna autentica, imperfetta e viva, dove il non finito diventa identità, attesa e possibilità.
