Mirroring is a photographic collage on wood. This work began with reflections, repeated geometries and fragments of architecture that return across the surface as visual echoes.
The photographs were enlarged until their definition began to change, flattening the real into a more graphic, almost drawn image. I was interested in keeping this stage of freshness, allowing repetition, grain and colour to construct the visual system without being fully absorbed into a more complex composition.
The repeated elements do not close the image into a pattern. They shift, overlap and respond to one another, while the circular form returns as a presence inside the geometric field.
The upper wooden strip entered the work immediately, giving the image a material edge and interrupting its apparent precision. Mirroring remains suspended between reflection and repetition, between the building that was photographed and the image it has become.
