Assigned is a work of identity research that becomes an unresolved condition. It sets itself in place and continues to move.
It is composed of fragments from different sources that, within the collage, lose their primary function and search for new relationships, in a continuous tension between belonging and displacement, creating a dense visual field, to be explored up close and almost invisible from a distance.
No piece really manages to impose itself. What remains is a suspended crossing that continues to relocate itself in the eye of the viewer.
Assigned is also the matrix of RE:composition, a project in which fragments of the collage, re-photographed and printed, are reassigned to new compositions on articulated modular panels, independent but in relation to one another, opening new possibilities in the space they occupy.
