Starting from literary and cinematographic references, we proposed to reflect within the pictorial series "Objects of Desire", on the act of eating/being eaten, from the point of view of the spectator who metaphorically feeds on a work of art but is also devoured/eaten for the desire to own a work of art.Dear Hansel: taking the popular children's story as a starting point, the child Hansel is presented as a symbol-object, portraying him as a chocolate bar with colored balls, a sweet food that claims to contain physical and mental features attributed to childhood: innocence, tenderness, play. A painting is presented with object aspirations that arouses the same desire to be consumed as the real candy. More than representing the surface of a chocolate bar, the aim was to BE a chocolate bar, and therefore it was insisted on maintaining the proportions with the real sweet, on achieving a certain volume of the pictorial material as well as of the support that, a certain texture that invite you to touch the surface of the canvas and chromatic aspects, choosing intense and saturated colors.
