In this piece, titled 'Cartography of the Fragile', the choice of paper is a deliberate act of resistance. Since this substrate is, by its nature, foreign to traditional printmaking, the calcographic ink does not penetrate the fiber but rather rests upon the surface. This deliberate error allows me to work under the concept of controlled chance, where the sharpness of direct fish printing (created using PVC matrices) and the tactile memory of net counter-reliefs coexist with the organic variations that the non-absorbent paper imposes on the ink.
Through the collage technique, the space is articulated via a rhythmic vertical fragmentation. This structural division does not aim to separate, but precisely the opposite: to construct, through fragmentation, a work that is unitary in its totality. It is a sensory map that vindicates graphic experimentation, where fragmented traces and technical displacement open new avenues for contemporary expression within the print.
