Title
PLATO — Liberation
Concept
PLATO — Liberation explores the moment of departure from inherited systems of perception and mediated realities.
Emerging from a geometric architectural framework, the figure appears suspended between confinement and transformation. The structure functions simultaneously as enclosure, pathway, and cognitive map, evoking the journey described in Plato’s Allegory of the Cave: the movement from illusion toward awareness.
While rooted in classical philosophy, the work addresses contemporary questions surrounding information systems, digital dependency, and the growing influence of algorithmic environments on human perception. Liberation is presented not as a final destination, but as an ongoing process of questioning, discovery, and self-determination.
Part of the ongoing series Architectures of Thought, the sculpture reflects on humanity’s enduring search for knowledge, autonomy, and truth in an increasingly mediated world.
