This artwork, #One-to-One VS One-to-Many, is a part of a series titled "Selfless in a Selfie World." I travel to coveted selfie destinations, shoot photography, and juxtapose the photographed imagery with abstract symbolism I create that contrarily embodies the selfless state (that of our essence based identity often hidden behind egoic identity constructs). This work in particular is a part of the Saint Tropez edition. The photography (as depicted on floating aluminum parts) is of a lighthouse: a representation of a "one-to-many" selfie world theme, as prevalent on social media platforms where true human connection can be lost. The painted overlay (seemingly levitating at the forefront) is a symbol for the antithesis: a "one-to-one" connection, where individualized intent makes the most precious contact. I use duality as a tool for introspection and the artwork as a whole is an invitation to go within and awaken to our intrinsic state of inherent wholeness and pure consciousness.
