A Message for You is an installation composed of six cotton flannel panels created during the artist residency at BIGCi Centre, in the Wollemi National Park, Australia. Each panel was gently wrapped around ancient Angophora trees, whose deeply fissured bark recalls wounds and whose red resin is traditionally associated with healing properties.
In this work, the resin becomes the true author. It stains the white fabric, leaving traces, marks and colors like a silent form of natural writing. The artist’s gesture is one of listening and care: the trees are poetically bandaged, while the fabric receives their message.
Visitors were invited to touch, embrace and rest against the trees, rediscovering a slow and respectful contact with the living world. The panels can be exhibited vertically or horizontally, like scrolls, relics or prayers.
The work was created at a time marked by wars and human suffering. As nature too reveals its wounds and sheds its own red “blood,” the act of bandaging the trees becomes a symbolic gesture of healing addressed to all wounded bodies.
A Message for You is not a message invented by the artist, but one received from the trees themselves: a message of connection, care and mutual belonging. The installation invites viewers to reconsider nature not as a distant landscape, but as a shared condition of vulnerability, healing and interdependence.
