Fire Rirual
Fire Ritual is a live performance exploring the relationship between the body, memory, and transformation. Wearing a sculptural garment constructed from discarded bras and found materials, I perform a sequence of slow, ritualized actions that confront the emotional and social burdens carried by the body.
During the performance, the sculptural objects are deliberately offered to the fire. The act of burning is a conscious ritual of release rather than an act of destruction. As the flames transform the objects, they become symbols of memories, expectations, and identities that can no longer be carried. The body remains present as a witness to this process, moving between stillness, vulnerability, and resilience.
The ashes and transformed fragments become part of the work, preserving the traces of the performed action. Photography and video extend the performance beyond the live event, while the ritual itself exists only in the present moment.
Fire Ritual reflects on the possibility of letting go, embracing change, and discovering renewal through transformation.
