This artwork is a captured "second of happiness," frozen in time during a drive along the coast of Turkey. As the sun began to set and a favorite song reached its chorus, the world outside — the wild grass, the sea, the passing house — merged perfectly with my internal state. I am convinced that true life is composed of these simple yet sacred moments of presence.
The painting is an integral part of my ongoing project, "Vanishing States: Earth and the Moment."
My artistic process is a "pilgrimage for color": I travel the world, identifying natural minerals and hand-processing them into paint. These pigments contain the "DNA of the Earth" and its primordial energy. My research focuses on "Vanishing Art" — field studies made from pure, unfixed minerals that may change or fade over time, physically embodying the philosophy of a moment that cannot be held.
In this large-scale oil work, I synthesize the tactile experience of earth research with my deepest emotions.
I am seeking the BigCi residency in Australia because it is one of the most energetically powerful and biodiverse regions on the planet. My mission is to conduct tactile field research in the ancient Blue Mountains, collect their unique "colors," and create a series of works that bridge the gap between the human soul and the living energy of the Earth.
This painting is my gratitude to the God for the chance to experience this world as a continuous miracle.
