Lost Lands developed without a predetermined plan, emerging through an organic dialogue between pigment, texture, and light. The painting does not present a fixed landscape. Its surface shifts continuously, moving from deep metallic tones to warmer, earth-like reflections as the surrounding light changes.
Layers of gold leaf, translucent color, and mineral textures create a terrain that feels both familiar and elusive. Rather than depicting a specific place, the work suggests the memory of a territory—fragmented, unstable, and constantly transforming.
Meaning arrived only after the painting settled into its final form. Because the image changes with the movement of light, the work never appears exactly the same twice, remaining open to perception and to the associations each viewer brings to it.
