Core Axis grew around a circular movement that remained present throughout the entire painting. As layers accumulated, the surface passed through multiple states, some promising, others deeply unsatisfying. The image continuously shifted, resisting any attempt to settle into a final form.
What ultimately held my attention was the appearance of a dancing figure at the centre of the composition. Emerging from the surrounding movement, it transformed my relationship with the painting and revealed a coherence that had previously remained hidden.
The gold elements reinforced this discovery, bringing light and rhythm to a presence that seemed to have been waiting beneath the surface all along.
Core Axis captures that encounter between movement and presence, between the energy that surrounds us and the form that gradually emerges from within it.
