Fragments of Light began as a fully coloured surface. Rather than adding light, I chose to conceal it. By painting over large areas with black, only fragments of colour were allowed to remain, transforming them into moments of energy suspended within darkness.
This reversal reflects the way I experience existence. Light is not the absence of darkness, nor is darkness its opposite. They reveal one another. What remains visible becomes more intense precisely because so much has disappeared.
The work invites the viewer to look beyond what is immediately present. Every fragment suggests something larger, reminding us that even in the vastness of the unknown, light continues to exist—sometimes hidden, sometimes revealed, but never lost.
