Wolfram Wörner creates kinetic sculptures in which movement can be experienced not only as a physical principle, but also as a form of artistic expression.
Together with his partner Marion Altmann he creates artworks that cross the borders between abstract expressionism and kinetic art. In their hybrid artworks paintings and sculptures collaborate in order to explore transitions and borderlines between the different art forms.
Wörners artworks combine technical precision with artistic sensitivity and explore the subtle relationships between balance, tension, rhythm and transformation. At the heart of his work lies the idea that movement is more than mere mechanics: it becomes an expression of energy, resonance and change.
Drawing on structural principles such as tensegrity structures, equilibrium states and natural forces like wind or gravity, Wörner develops artworks that unfold through the interplay of stability and change. His sculptures react, interlock, oscillate and, in doing so, constantly generate new constellations. This gives rise to objects that are not conceived as static forms, but as living systems – fragile orders that are constantly redefining themselves.
Wörner’s artistic practice operates at the intersection of art, science and perception. Inspired by the laws of physics as well as by organic processes, he makes invisible forces visible and invites us to experience movement as a fundamental principle of life. His works open up spaces for contemplation, where precision and lightness, construction and imagination meet.
In an age of increasing acceleration, Wolfram Wörner focuses on the conscious experience of dynamism. His sculptures invite us to look more closely: at the fragile balance of things, at the beauty of complex systems, and at the quiet poetry that arises from the interplay of force and form. His art is an invitation not only to observe movement, but to rethink it as a fundamental connection between humanity, nature and the cosmos.
