Metamorphosis – Paul Boesch Prize / Grand Graphic Prize
Following conversations with several individuals who had experienced various forms of spiritual retreats, I explored the world of stop-motion animation to visually convey their stories of inner transformation.
Collage, a symbol of fragmentation, evokes our cities overwhelmed with images and information, while painting—fluid and harmonious—embodies the quest for inner peace. These two visual languages come together to form a symbolic universe, where each element narrates a stage in the spiritual journey. The beings represented leave subtle traces of their passage, like the imprint of a fleeting yet profound presence.
A three-day retreat allowed for the creation of all the visuals used, in an immersive, introspective, and sensory process.
