This work originates from my ongoing project Eyesea, which began during the pandemic in 2020. I started photographing people’s eyes and listening to the stories behind them. Through this intimate process, I began to sense an invisible connection between individuals—a kind of emotional ocean that binds us all.
Eyesea explores the eye as a metaphor for memory, loss, and collective vulnerability. Each image captures more than a gaze; it becomes a vessel for silence, grief, and unspoken communication. In this body of work, I reflect on the sea not only as a metaphor, but as a space of convergence—where distance and intimacy, absence and presence coexist.
I was able to begin interviewing over 300 people, and this series represents the first group among them
