The human figure wrapped in aluminum foil symbolizes humanity struggling within a paradoxical shell of protection and isolation. This fragile layer shields us, yet at the same time confines us, reflecting the loneliness and longing for connection experienced during the pandemic. Within it, however, stirs an unextinguished desire for freedom. The figure embodies the body’s struggle to survive, to resist, and to uphold human dignity.
Like the silver foam upon the sea, endlessly shimmering and transforming, aluminum foil changes its brightness with the refraction of light and reshapes itself through touch and intention. Fragile yet protective, delicate yet firm, in this duality I discovered resonance. It transcended mere materiality to become a metaphor that reveals the essence of human existence.
In this work, aluminum is no longer a simple material, but a symbol of relationship, protection, will, transformation, and resilience.
