Entropy examines the instability of symbolic systems through an intervention on the iconography of the European flag. A metal water tap is inserted into the image, transforming the emblem into a structure subjected to continuous drainage and loss.
By introducing an element associated with flow, extraction, and infrastructure, the work displaces the flag from the realm of representation into a condition of material exhaustion. What traditionally functions as a sign of unity, permanence, and political cohesion is reconfigured as a site of leakage, where authority appears vulnerable to processes of dissipation and decline.
Drawing on the concept of entropy as the irreversible tendency of systems toward disorder, the work proposes a reading of contemporary political imaginaries not as stable constructions, but as fragile arrangements sustained through constant negotiation. The drain is neither accidental nor external; it emerges from within the symbolic structure itself.
Suspended between persistence and disappearance, Entropy reveals the latent instability of narratives that aspire to universality, exposing the conditions under which collective symbols gradually lose coherence, density, and symbolic efficacy.
