Kites reconfigures emergency thermal blankets into aerial structures that activate the layered histories embedded within mylar. Originally engineered for aerospace applications and later absorbed into the visual economy of humanitarian emergencies, the material operates here as a carrier of displaced technological and political imaginaries.

Through a subtle inversion of function, instruments of insulation become devices of suspension. Associated with flight, orientation, and atmospheric drift, the kites occupy an unstable threshold between aspiration and contingency, mobility and control.

The work proposes a material archaeology of circulation, tracing how technologies designed to transcend terrestrial limits are redeployed within contemporary regimes of displacement, exposure, and survival.
