Blood Has No Color

Blood Has No Color (2024) is an installation composed of felt, steel, and wood, featuring an open circular structure formed by suspended felt "red blood cells" attached to steel rods of varying heights. The work evokes both a biological system and a fragmented organic constellation, where repetition and interruption coexist in precarious balance. By presenting the circle as unfinished, the installation suggests a broken cycle, an absence, or the impossibility of return, while reflecting on the fragility of life and the loss of collective vitality. The title points to the universality of human blood beyond distinctions of race or ethnicity, proposing a meditation on shared existence within the broader system of life. At the same time, the work critically addresses contemporary anthropocentrism, questioning humanity’s disconnection from the ecological web to which it belongs and evoking the possibility of human disappearance within the vast and ongoing Tree of Species.
