I am currently working on a photographic series exploring feminine divinities from mythologies around the world, through the symbolic language of the four primordial elements: Earth, Water, Air, and Fire. Inspired by goddesses from diverse cultural traditions, the series seeks to reveal the universal archetypes of creation, transformation, wisdom, power, and renewal embodied by these female deities.
The work is built around mirror effects and symmetrical compositions, creating a sense of duality, reflection, and transcendence. These visual echoes evoke the relationship between the earthly and the divine, the visible and the invisible, the human and the mythical.
Yemaya, "Queen of the Waters", is of Nigerian origin, and embodies an important figure for many Afro-Caribbean peoples. Divinity of the waters (sea, river), she represents their power and wealth, but also embodies more generally the sacred link that unites Humans and Nature..
