This work was inspired by my love for my ancestors. The action takes place in the abandoned village where my grandmother lived. Here, every day, she performed countless heroic deeds that helped the family survive. In gratitude, I bake bread in her oven, just as she once did. I hope this will help increase the amount of love in the world. When I was filming the video and setting the loaf of bread afloat on the river, I felt like I was witnessing the birth of a new universe, as described in Nivkh mythology, retold in Chingiz Aitmatov's work. In my work, you can see the image of Alyonushka by the pond, like in Vasnetsov's painting, but unlike the canonical plot, I'm not waiting for my brother Ivanushka, but for the return of the bread.
