Anastasiia Belova’s practice lies at the intersection of performance, ritual and social action. She uses the body as a transformative medium to navigate states of transition, instability and collective memory. Many of her works are durational or site‑specific, dissolving the boundary between artist and audience and reflecting liminality — the phase between one form of existence and another.
Belova frequently draws on archetypal imagery (priestess, witch, worker), recontextualising these figures within a contemporary framework to connect personal biography with broader historical and mythological narratives. By employing everyday tools and inherited gestures, her work links generational continuity with the persistence of embodied knowledge.
Her practice also engages socio‑political symbols, reactivating them through performative intervention and examining how ideology transforms into ritualised form, revealing both the instability of meaning and the endurance of symbolic power. Rather than producing fixed objects, Anastasiia Belova creates situations that function as thresholds — spaces where viewers confront uncertainty, reflection and potential transformation. Her work seeks not to provide answers but to open passageways through time, memory and perception.
