"Zōge Sekai" ("The World of Blossoms") takes its title from the Buddhist Avatamsaka Sutra, expressing the belief that all living beings possess inherent value and dignity.
After struggling to paint temple pines and Buddhist statues, I erased the canvas in frustration. The following morning, blue and purple blossoms unexpectedly emerged beneath my brush, accompanied by blue butterflies drifting among them. The composition unfolded in a single, spontaneous flow, as though it had revealed itself.
Selected for the 78th Women Artists Association Exhibition (Japan).
